April 20th : Scott Hinkle presenting webinar: Updated FASB RegulationsShare
April 20, 11:00 am (PDT):
Scott Hinkle presenting webinar: “Updated FASB Regulations Regarding Credit Union-Owned Mutual Funds and ETFs: What are the Impacts and What are the Solutions?”
The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) has issued Accounting Standards Update (ASU) 2016-01 which changes the accounting standards for invested securities. This guidance requires that credit unions record securities at Fair Value via Net Income as opposed to through Unrealized Gains and Losses in the Equity section of the balance sheet. These rules come into effect December 15, 2018, so credit unions should start considering alternatives that minimize the income statement effect of Fair Value reporting.
At Grant, Hinkle & Jacobs, we work alongside credit union CFOs and CEOs, to guide them in developing new solutions to long-term problems, navigate the world of accounting standards, and provide viable options that have withstood the test of time.
That’s why we’re hosting a Webinar on April 20, crafted to answer your questions and provide effective solutions in a changing regulatory environment.
By the time you walk away, you’ll have learned:
-What’s behind FASB ASU 2016-01
-How the regulatory update will impact the balance sheets of credit unions
-An alternative that will minimize the impact of the new standards
